Time developed its sprung twin-bar cleat retention system after Shimano patented SPD, and quickly found users who preferred the lateral bars.
The pedals’ ability to remain blockage-free didn’t go amiss, either. The ATAC is a mid-priced model that uses Time’s 5º sensor system, so you can tune the pedals. The small outboard cartridge bearing is smooth, and we’ve rarely had issues with it turning rough.
The inboard bushing is hard-wearing and well-sealed thanks to the large rubber gasket. Overall, this is a solid set of XC/ trail pedals.
