With the tension adjuster that’s underneath the nose of the saddle on its slackest setting, even a new Brooks B17 gives a forgiving and comfortable ride.
And so long as you wind it in a little when the saddle beds in and the leather stretches slightly, it will always give that same level of comfort.
This is one of the most often overlooked aspects of the B17 – the fact that you can tune the leather tension to get the fit you want.
Although a little heavy, a well bedded-in B17 could be the most comfortable big-mile saddle you will ever own; you just have to get the miles in on a new one to really make it start working.
