Selle's X.0 has been around for ages, and while it's no relation to SRAM's super bling X.0 gears, it's still a comfortably workmanlike seat at a good price.

The synthetic 'leather' cover is bonded directly onto the foam layer in a single piece, which gives the saddle its rather amorphous blobby looks, but we've ridden plenty of them over the years without any of them peeling or delaminating. The unprotected flanks do scuff and tear easily though, so we'd steer clear of the X.0 if you're a regular crasher.

Apart from that, the smoothly rounded, broad beamed shape means the saddle vanishes from your comfort radar quickly, although it does get a bit numb and sweaty on longer rides. The floppy sides of the central hole mean there's no testicle shearing action if you slide onto it sideways though, and the smooth shape stops it snagging shorts or jacket hems. Steel rails are to be expected at this low price, but the overall weight isn't excessive and there's an average amount of fore and aft movement adjustment, too.
