Designed to take the rough with the smooth with layback or inline heads

FSA’s SL-K seat post has been redesigned with a lighter, slimmer head and a glam, sexed-up look that we actually prefer to their top-end K-Force line.

This isn’t a carbon wrap job, either: it’s a carbon pillar with a redesigned, slimmer and more easily adjustable 6061 alloy head, plus a couple of sensible steel 4mm Allen bolts to adjust the saddle position and angle – we experienced no slippage.

The post shrugged off all the hurt we could inflict during our test. There’s plenty of material there and, even with some less-than-catlike landings on the saddle, we never had cause to doubt its resilience.

Our 350mm long, 31.6mm-diameter model weighs 235g. We’d have liked some millimetre gradients on the post in place of the centimetre ones provided (seatpost height is usually a millimetric measurement).
