"Well finished and well made, not as stiff as we would have expected"

The new Massi X-Lite 2 stem is based around a 3D forging that’s then wrapped with layers of carbon fibre composite. Unlike the normal X-Lite version, X-Lite 2 features a composite reinforced bar cap too.

The deflection test was surprising, failing to make the top five in terms of torsional stiffness, though out on the road it felt more than stiff enough, even feeling quite harsh at times.

At 195g for the 120mm version tested (other sizes have yet to be confirmed), there’s more than enough material and it should have done better in our torsional testing.

Good touches include stainless bolts with high quality washers front and rear, the rear bolts are domed head items, and the bar clamp edges are nicely rounded off too, all adding up to a quality offering for good money.
