The Warhead stem weighs in at 160g complete with bolts – impressive from the off. It’s cold forged and extensively CNC machined to create a three-piece body that’s available in three colours and compatible with RockShox Boxxer forks.
Initially, we were sceptical about the 45mm-only length option, fearing it’d be too short. Once aboard our preferred lengthy-top-tube downhill bikes though, we realised we needn’t have worried. Coupled with the zero-rise height, it was spot on, even for taller riders. The fact it sits at the cheaper end of the often expensive direct mount stem market is yet another bonus.
