This might appear utterly bonkers in terms of the angle, but it isn’t aimed at the performance rider, although those who wish to have their bars very low can run it flipped and sniff their tyres as they ride. This could be illegally low for UCI time trial rules, depending upon your frame size.
If you’re after an upright and relaxed riding position though, this is one of the few stems available that will do the job – and it even comes with a shim to allow fitting to a 1in threadless steerer.
The quality isn’t brilliant, but there’s more than enough material in it (yes, its heavy) to make it both stiff and durable, but we would like to see the edges of the bar clamp rounded off just a little more than they are.
