Race Face Ride XC Stem
BikeRadar verdict
"New low price for old-school quality and versatility"
From Race Face’s recently launched budget Ride XC line, this is a tough, lightish cross-country stem that won't break the bank.
It's forged from 6061 alloy before being shot-peened to help stress-relieve the surface. The face plate is machined 6061 alloy and uses four 4mm Allen bolt screws to clamp the bar.
The angle can be adjusted by six degrees either way on the reversible stem, giving a racer-flat or slightly raised bar. Not everyone wants or needs a flippable stem, though. We'd like to see a zero-degree option.
Otherwise, there’s very little to complain about – this is simply a solid, relatively run-of-the-mill cross-country/trail bike stem.
There are five lengths (60, 90, 100, 110, and 120mm), with a 110mm stem weighing a reasonable 175g. It comes in 25.4mm and 31.8mm clamp diameters
