Syncros' BHT - Big Hit Tyre - is a sticky tread for hard riders. It's meant to be used as a set in a front and rear pairing.
The directionally stable front uses a softer compound (50 duro) for impressive steering/line-holding grip in most conditions. The paddle-tread rear is 55 duro to cope with harder driving and braking and it flares out sideways before the front if really pushed, giving a predictable speedway style oversteer. Relatively small side knobs mean there isn't masses of edging grip, but the rounded profile turns in nicely and gives way predictably and progressively when it slides.
Big volume casing makes the BHT-2 a comfortable tyre and it's a reasonable weight, but it's not stable enough to hammer rocks or edges at low pressure without popping and squirming, although a reinforced under-tread carcass reduces point punctures, and a sidewall bumper helps ward off snakebite impacts.
The price is relatively high, but at least the BHT lasts longer than super sticky tyres and stays grippy even when badly worn.
