Maxxis Swamp Thing Super Tacky 2.35in
BikeRadar verdict
"Shockingly surefooted mixed filth legend at a great price"
Swamp Thing has dominated the hardcore winter tyres market since it first appeared on the scene, and nothing has come close to its outstanding grip/ value performance.
The wide spaced, low stub blocks don't bite as deep as a full spike tread but there aren't many tyres that'll turn underneath it unless it's totally sodden and sloppy. The bonus is that it's far more predictable on mixed trails and even wet shore, with no smear however hard you work it. A rounded carcass and plenty of shoulder tread means it transitions superbly into turns, it's fat enough for freeride - even in single ply versions - and it clears instantly.

User review of Maxxis Swamp Thing Super Tacky 2.35in
These tyres are just the business. Use them on the front with UST rims (so they do not move or squirm at low ish pressures 30-35). I ride on mainly hardpack in Spain - they have improved grip so much in the dry! Don't take ANY notice of those that say they are slow - they are not.
