Panaracer Extreme Duro Folding Tyre | $37.26
BikeRadar verdict
"Like the Gatorskin, it combines puncture resistance and pep"
Billed by UK distributor Zyro as ‘the ultimate training tyre’, the Extreme Duro is, at the very least, pretty good.
It uses three overlapping puncture-resisting plies aligned in different orientations - what Panracer calls ‘3D casing’.
Puncture resistance is good through the tread, though the sidewalls aren’t as tough as some of its competitors. It’s fairly light and the slick tread grips well and rolls well.

User review of Panaracer Extreme Duro Folding Tyre
Bought these to replace my Conti Gatorskins which gave 3 years sterling service and only punctured just before I replaced them. The Duros were in a sale and got em for £21 each, normal price £32, which at the full price would be too expensive for me.
The Duros I got are the new 2009 version which includes what Panaracer call a Protex shield. Read more on their website about that. I bought these as a winter tyre due to the puncture resistance claims although I've been riding them in the summer due to problems with my summer bike.
Had them on 3 months now and all seems well. Got a rear puncture which I think was a dodgy tube but since fitting new tubes no probs. Nice ride from this tyre, grippy and faster than gatorskins. I am riding through roads with lots of junk on them and so the tyre seems to protect well against punctures.
They were tight going on. So far so good. Will lnow better after a full winter.
