Continental's Grand Prix 4 Season is a winterised version of the GP4000 race tyre. It has the same bead-to-bead Duraskin mesh as the Conti Gatorskin, and two breaker strips under the tread made of Vectran, a synthetic fibre. It’s pretty tough.
The tread compound seems durable yet grips well on wet roads. Its rolling performance is merely okay, but then no tyre excels at everything, while many are good at two out of three from grip, toughness and speed. It’s a sound choice where reliability and road-holding top your priorities.

An excellent set of tyres that have done well so far this year. Much better than the Gator's and rolls well enough. Look out for deals as I bought mine for £20 a tyre ;-)

I love them in the wet. They give me so much confidence; no slipping like I experienced on the Gators (which went straight away). I find they do wear quick though and have had several punctures as they really pick up the crap on wet roads.

The biz in my limited experience. So reliable, no punctures...ever. My latest set of 28mm GP4 tyres have c3,000 miles on them and not a sign of tread wear.
Rolling resistance is good but not great. They're clearly heavier than something like the Schwalbe Ultremos I had before, but they don't wear anywhere near as fast or puncture as much.
I've never had a bad experience on them in the wet (just one little twitch on a wet white road marking), but I know a top rider who hates them for his experience of slipping in the wet, so it seems not all people take to them.
I cannot fault them and would not swap them until they stop making them!

Bought a new Trek 2.5 compact in the end of season sale in october. It was fitted with Bontager race tyres that were great in the dry, but dreadful on wet leafy autumn roads. Replaced then with the continental GP4 seasons. Wow, great grip, and as a mountain biker i like grip. Positive in the corners. Confident in the wet. Have done a couple of hundred K on these, have had no punctures yet (although i think tyre pressure is the key to puncture prevention).
If i have one tiny negative it would be the lack of rotational direction on the tyres. I just but them on how i thought they looked right.
Overall great Tyre!

I'm a fan of these. I use 28s for my commuter bike. Not as puncture proof as a 34 touring tyre but butt loads lighter and faster rolling and so long as you keep the pressures up (duh) they're great. If there's a downside it's that, for commuting, the sidewalls are a bit vulnerable.
+1 for hanging out for a deal, I got mine for 25 Euros each
