  • Fantastic tyre, done thousands of urban and winter miles on these, very grippy and light but substantial exactly where they need to be. Buy some before Michelin close down their factory for July and August!

  • Bought two. Cut one so badly on the first outing that it went straight in the bin. The other tyre punctured on each of my next three rides. Contacted Michelin who told me it was just bad luck. I've been riding Continental ever since.

  • Excellent training tyre, relatively light and very puncture-resistant. I've only ever had an unscheduled deflation when I went into a pothole at speed and the tube got snake-bitten.

On the down side, they can be very awkward to fit. Once they're on, you forget how to fix punctures, 'cos you don't get them any more (I'll probably regret saying that).

  • Disagree with this review. I tried these last year and they got cuts all over them very quickly. Then they started to puncture regularly. I moved to continental grand prix and haven't looked back.

  • Brilliant tyres. The best there are for training. Any tyre can puncture, but I've never had one when using these. I agree they can be hard to fit.

  • Have been using Krylion about 5 years now and had one puncture in all that time. I,ve gone through probably about 10 to 15 tyres in all that time, and in all weathers. They have been truly outstanding and i would defo recommend them to anyone.

  • I've got these on both bikes and maybe I've just been lucky, but I've never had a flat in any of the tyres. I bought my last ones from Chain Reaction for (I think) about £35 for the pair.

  • Not sure how much I've done on this tire - I think around 1000kms. No punctures and not much sighs of wear, however there has been a pretty big cut in the tire since fairly early on - not sure what was needed to cause that... looks quite deep and wide. However the integrity has remained and it doe snot seem to be "opening up" if you will.

The grip is alright - I have Specialized Mondo Sport (stock on Allez) to go by. The Mondos were quite grippy - then again the rubber was quite a bit softer.

Although I can not really comment on how good the puncture protection on this tire is after only about 1000kms - it does have the reputation of being pretty good.

As an all round tire this is pretty good, though the grip is not the best from my [limited] experience - it's not too bad though. :p

  • I'm fairly new to biking (got my first road bike this year on the bike to work scheme) and commute everyday into and out of central London. I changed to these tyres from the standard tyres that came with the bike as I was also changing the wheels. My commute means that every week I'm doing approx 70 miles. Had these tyres for almost 2 months now, and can only agree whole heartedly with this review.

So far, (touch wood) I ain't had any problems. No punctures, no cuts, and have ridden them in dry and wet conditions. I commute in with my wife who rides a MTB in and out for our daily commute. Last rainy ride she said she felt her bike slip a couple of times, and these did nothing but inspire total confidence.

I would recommend these to anyone. Like I say in and out of Central London, and all the cr*p that comes with those roads, in wet and dry conditions and so far not a problem. I'm about to buy a 2nd pair cause these are nothing short of amazing. All that and you do really feel the difference in the rolling resistance compared to cheaper tyres. Got mine from Chain Reaction which still seems to have them at the cheapest price.

  • After reading the excellent reviews for this tyre in Cycling Plus I bought two. They are most definitely the worst tyre I have ever had in my bike. I got a flat on the first ride and a bit of ash felt grit about the size of a pea put a hole in the tyre on the fourth ride. The rear tyre will have to be scrapped and I'm going back to Continental. These tyres have the durability of marshmallow. Don't buy these - they are a complete waste of money

  • Replaced the Chinese s*** on my Wilier with these. Have covered around 700 mile so far and they've been superb. Reasonably comfortable, fast rolling and so far, punture resitant. I must admit I had no problems fitting either. Have tried both 23 and 25 and the 25's despite popular theroy, do feel like they have more rolling resistance and are slightly heavier, but would recommend either sizes. Fantastic value via CRC as well.

  • I haven't found the perfect tyre yet hence the 4 rather than a 5. I live in Kent and when it's wet the flints on the roads will cut through anything. I have 30 years of experience of regularly puncturing tyres in these conditions. These tyres are probably the most puncture resistant that I have ever used. Tread wear is very good as well. I note that there are a series of negative reviews all from people who `apparently' punctured these on every outing, and then all went back to Continental, funny that, does Continental have a dirty tricks brigade who post negative reviews?

  • Over 2500 miles last year - 1 puncture on a lane where they had just been cutting the hedges. Enough said, 5/5
