Schwalbe’s Durano is designed as a high-mileage, durable road tyre. There’s enough protection in the tyre for the off-season, thanks to a RaceGuard belt under the tread. This double layer of nylon does a good job at deflecting sharps.

On the road, rolling performance is very good. It’s a dual compound tyre and gives good grip in the wet. Overall, the Durano is an excellent mile-eating option with minimal compromises in any area.

  • Fantastic tyres! Did a LEJOG earlier this year with a mate, We both had these fitted.. No punctures the whole trip :-) I've kept them on my winter bike and they are still in great nick after nearly 3000 miles.

  • If this were a summer racing tyre I would give it a 3 as they are quite hard work to begin with, but then all winter/training tyres are like that and compared to others these actually seem to roll very well indeed. So far my experience with these has been very good- they look durable, they roll OK and so thumbs up from me. As for durability, they seem to do the job impeccably. I had a puncture on my second outing, but that was due to a sharp, pointy 1.5" nail and the tyre stayed inflated until I got home (didn't notice it until after I got home). After several rides I can still see the manufacturing mould crest, even on the rear tyre, which shows that they are made of strong stuff. So far, they have my trust- they handle the wet well, they corner well and they look great. If they wear in well I may even use them for a couple of spring sportives. A well earned five green thumbs.
