"Outstandingly tough yet reasonably light rims on slightly weighty hubs"

A custom build to showcase Spank rims and Elements hubs, the  Subrosa rims are a particularly impressive component of these sturdy wheels.

They’re not that heavy but remarkably stiff and strong, thanks to a unique internal profile. The downside is that they’re an absolute sod to get tyres on and off, but at least you won’t lose your rubber as soon as you flat.

The steel freehub body adds weight, but protects against gouging from loose cassettes. Component costs are competitive as well, our price is based on £50 for a wheelbuild and spokes (thanks Moonglu.co.uk), but when building your own this may vary.

    Got a pair of these built up on Hope Pro2's and so far can't fault them. I think they're pretty light for their width and strength. Taken them down Snowdon and took a pounding but stayed true.

    No problems using Maxxis Minions and Panaracer Rampage, no harder than other wheels.
