Bontrager Race Extra Light Wheelset (09) | $861.55
BikeRadar verdict
"Stiff new rim and pimpy spokes refresh Bontrager’s race wheel, but at a price"
The 28 butted white spokes front and rear may grab your attention, but it’s the new stiffer, lighter scandium alloy rims that tighten this wheelset up compared to previous versions.
It still isn’t guaranteed to go exactly where you point it, but it’s precise enough for a race weight wheel.
The wheels are supplied with tubeless sealing strips and valves, though their hooked profile makes them a sod to set up even normal tyres on without overpressuring.
The Bontrager designed hubs are a bit sticky new, but fast on the uptake, quiet and reliable. The broad lever skewers are great too.

User review of Bontrager Race Extra Light Wheelset (09)
At a price? These aren't exactly expensive for wheels like these. A set of handbuilt DT wheels would cost over £600 at RRP.
