The ES has little in common with their previous flagship SL model and sports a number of refinements including a lighter, shallower-section 18/20 hole rims for lower reciprocating mass and carbon-bodied cartridge bearing hubs with wider flanges, and fewer spokes.

While this is not the lightest wheel on test the latest refinements make a small but noticeable difference when climbing and heavy riders noticed the improvements more than others.

While we continue to have issues with the repairability of machine-built wheels like the Ksyrium, this is nevertheless one of the best wheels we've ever tested but at a price. Price includes wheel bags and they are compatible with Shimano and Campagnolo systems.
