DMR Trailstar frame £299.99

Proven play chassis

BikeRadar score 3/5

DMR have been dedicated to dirt jumping for 15 years and the Trailstar is a proven play bike. Thick ring-reinforcing throughout handles nosedive landings, and the frame has a three-year warranty.

The ‘Swopout’ dropouts can be switched to singlespeed-friendly horizontal slots or 12mm bolt-through axle versions. There’s an ISCG mount, and the skinny 26.8mm seat tube is compatible with BMX-style top bolt posts. It takes the sting out of the solid ride too.

Both this 90-110mm fork frame and the 110-130mm fork LT version are relatively steep angled, at 71 to 72.5 degrees, which is great for slopestylers or four-cross racers but not so clever for downhill or steep cross-country use. The hefty weight means you need lots of muscle to get it going too.
