Scott Karma
BikeRadar verdict
"Tough and stylish, the Karma is all you’d ever want in a helmet"
The Scott Karma is one of a new breed of sexed-up, lightweight all-mountain helmets, which offer the advantages of a low-weight cross-country race lid, but have the increased head coverage that was previously the preserve of clunky-looking 'freeride' helmets.
The Karma is both a great-looking helmet and provides plenty of head coverage to give the rider a good feeling about security in a crash situation. In an impact, it does everything that you’d want — our tester hit his head on a concrete edge while ducking through a water overflow pipe…
The Karma fits your head with an adjustable internal strapping system that is simplicity itself. Get the clips ratcheted up and the lid stays put, however rough the trail gets. Venting is pretty good too, with no more or less heat build-up than with the Karma’s rivals. We’ve worn the Karma a lot recently, and have begun to forget we’re wearing it during rides — and that, as any rider knows, is what makes a good helmet.
