The Tec-tical is Abus’s range-topping helmet, but at 80 quid it represents decent value for money. Our 54-58cm size weighed in at just over 307g so it isn’t featherweight, but really this wasn’t an issue.
The sturdy ratchet system made finding a snug, comfortable fit easy, and 23 generous vents provide good cooling. The fabric padding inside can be removed for cleaning, there’s an extra pad under the chin for comfort and an anti-insect cap is also provided to keep your hair nice and bug-free.
We also liked the understated looks – the Tec-Tical is pleasingly discreet and we easily forgot we were wearing it.
