Specialized Propero helmet review
BikeRadar verdict
"Tidy and cool helmet for well below 100 notes. Highly recommended."

Specialized’s wind-tunnel tested 4th Dimension Cooling System – a series of internal channels and exhaust ports that shift air introduced by vents – makes this one of the coolest helmets we've tested.
The soft nylon straps are comfortable but the U-Buckles repeatedly popped open mid-ride.
The Pro Fit 2 harness allows you to adjust the vertical position as well as the volume of the cradle for a perfect, if narrow fit, and a removable peak is perfectly positioned to keep sunoff and vision intact.
With racey looks stolen from big brother 2D, but without a significant weight penalty (thanks to the internal reinforcement skeleton that allows bigger vents and less material), this is one of our favourites.

How can this helmet be awarded 4.5 stars if the buckles repeatedly pop open?

This is a great helmet, although (fortunately) I can't say what happens if you crash in it! Very light and very comfortable. Straps are easy to adjust to get them comfy. Has removable liner for washing.
Also I've never had a problem with the buckle coming undone.

I have/had a Propero, & last week I went over the bars head first into the pavement, going down hill tiring to pull up after the bike stated a wobble, at speed.... I tell you the helmet save me, bar the skin taken off my elbow & me having a pain down my shoulders & lower back (were the keys were :D ) this helmet performed well, I had significant cracks though out (inside only) the helmet (helmet stayed intact, but spread wider, seems loose now) & the strap pulled on the bottom of my chin, left some marks, under my chin.
PS
I have never had a problem with the straps coming off...
but due to the impact & very sore head (soft tissue) will be getting the 2d, (hey cheap life insurance) the 2d has variable foam
keep safe
cheers

I've not crashed mine, but I've not had a problem with the straps coming undone either. Very light, good airflow, good price, yep. Pleased with mine.
