Bell Variant Helmet | $69.60
BikeRadar verdict
"Great helmet, great price, great performance. Just great!"
Subtle styling and great value for money will win the Variant fans. The fit is secure, too, the pads provide decent comfort and air flow is decent.A bargain if you want to go camo.
The Variant is at the cheaper end of the trail lid market, but it offers top value for money in the usual three sizes. Styling is on the more subtle side of aggressive, with several patterns on offer and a nice rounded shape. A central ratchet snugs up the retention system, which firmly cups the back of the skuIl without covering up too much scalp.
It’s reasonably cool thanks to the raised ribs inside which increase the air flow from the multitude of vents, and the slender pads are good and deep for comfort.
The peak’s adjustable and unobtrusive, and while the straps are on the long side for smaller heads, they can always be trimmed to suit.
It also doesn’t have quite as much coverage at the rear as some other lids, but the payback is increased visibility and lighter weight.

really quality lid, great venting, good value and looks great too! cant compare it to the giro xen or hex as ive had neither, but i think it certainly looks better then them both, and is waaay better value for money then the xen. camo looks great as well, subtle but noticeable
