"Cheap and sturdy, but with a small barrel"

Wednesday, February 1, 2006 12.00am By

At less than twenty pounds this pump is firmly in the budget price range, but there's a lot to like about this offering from Truflo.

The barrel and base are very sturdy, and the top mounted gauge and hose are good too, with a decent reach. We didn't have any problems with the alloy-levered locking lever on Presta or Schraeder valves.

With a small barrel volume it'll take you a while to get to 100psi, but the Truflo didn't really struggle. It might with higher pressures though, as the plastic piston shaft doesn't feel very solid and the handle's not too comfy. Surprisingly, you even get a bleed valve at this price, which is a very welcome addition.
