Cannondale Airspeed Carbon | $44.99
BikeRadar verdict
"Strong, light pump that provides impressive pressure"
Unlike many mini pumps that promise to inflate your inner tubes up to 120psi, the Airspeed Carbon does actually deliver.
Beyond about 110 psi you’ve got to be prepared to get sweaty, and above 115 the task demands vein-popping effort, but at least you don’t have to ride with spongy tyres.
Made from alloy with just a carbon wrap over the barrel, this is a sturdy pump that’s built to stand the test of time. At 280mm long it isn’t the smallest option on the market but it weighs in at a reasonable 128g and will fit comfortably in your rear jersey pocket.
Alternatively, you can attach it to your frame if you’d prefer with the minimalist (18g) mounting bracket provided.
The CNC-machined head comes without a valve lock so you need to hold it firmly in place as you pump to prevent any leakage – but we didn’t find it a problem.
It’s compatible with skinny Presta valves only. The handle, also CNC-machined, locks in place when not in use so there’s no rattling.
