BikeRadar verdict

4.5 out of 5 stars

"An extremely well made, compact yet highly efficient pump — it’s the complete package"

Everyone needs to take a pump with them on rides – so why not make it a thing of great beauty rather than just another bike tool?

The folks at Lezyne seem to have created something that you’ll love as much as your bike itself, and as this pump comes in four colours there’s the opportunity to go the whole hog and co-ordinate it with your ride too.

The pump’s beauty goes way beyond the lightweight alloy skin however, and it was a joy to use. The ‘old-fashioned’ double-ended valve attachment screws into place for use and then stores away neatly into the handle.

Despite its small size, it pumped a large volume of air quickly and efficiently. It’s beautifully made too, with precision-machined threads and reassuringly solid rubber seals so that everything fits together perfectly – and not a rattle to be heard.

Its compact size means that on the days where you favour the minimal approach, it’ll tuck into a back pocket and you won’t need a pack to tote it along. The Alloy Drive is available with a bike mount and comes in a choice of black, red, blue and extra bling gold body colours.

  • I seem to have about 20 pumps, none ever seem to work as I like, are too large or break when you need it the most. This pump really is nice, it works so well and is still tiny and really light. The old school attachement beween tyre and pump is a joy to use compared to having to hold the pump to the valve and as it screws on you can really give it some welly while pumping without loosing any air.

  • If this thing doesnt deserve 5 stars, nothing does.

    A genuine class leader ?

Its not even in the same class as other bike pumps.

Combine it with the "pen gauge" and you have the ultimate pumping tool.

Im very happy with it, thank you Lezyne for making it, there is just nothing else like it out there :(

  • Great pump that works as well as it looks.

  • Just bought one of these to use with my new Litespeed Siena. It is without doubt the best pump I have ebver used. I cannt work out how something this small can put so much air into road tyres!

  • My old mini pump failed on the one occasion I had to use it! It seems that part of the valve locking system had shaken out whilst carrying it around!

I bought this pump last Wednesday and have had to use it twice already (the roads are getting worse) the old style tube adaptor is a godsend no more trying to hold rim and pump together!

This pump does exactly what it says on the tin simply and efficiently, and it comes supplied with a handy mounting bracket I cannot praise this pump highly enough worth way more than your maximum five rating.

  • I bought this pump on the back of reviews and the first time I used it was pleased with it's simple and effective performance. Unfortuneatley that's where the positives end. Maybe I got one from a bad batch but after this, the small piece rubber inside the hose started to wear away after every use thus making the pumps seal on the valve none existent. So in effect as soon as the tyre gets inflated to above 20psi the pump hose comes off and has to be held in place which is a problem when you are on your own (this is not after excessive use, after about 10 uses it's now impossible to use on your own and has to be held in place but still leaks air and takes about 10 mins to pump up the tyre). As you can imagine this product is on it's way back to the shop. Like I said may just be a one off but in my experience this pump has been shocking.

  • Reverting back to the older style hose pump is a great feature. Avoids messing about with lock on pumps that tend to be more prone to damaging delicate presta valves. Good pump.
