Passport CDW 20 function tool
BikeRadar verdict
"Well-made tool with handy knife, so it's great for light touring & camping too"
This multi-tool is packed with stuff that works, is really well made, and more importantly, made from good quality materials meaning it will last well. It’s one disadvantage is, that like most multi-tools it features spoke wrenches that are as useful as chocolate fireguards.
In total there are 20 tools available in the two halves, including the all important bottle opener, and a very nice little chain tool. At 242g it's a bit on the weighty side, but nowhere near as heavy as carrying 20 tools that will do the same job. A chain-joining loop (holds your chain together so you can join it easily) would be a nice inclusion, but at this price for such good quality, that would be us moaning for the sake of it.
It separates into two halves by squeezing a pair of buttons either side of the resin body.
Sharing space alongside a chain tool are the 2, 2.5 and 3mm Allen keys plus a Phillips screwdriver and a flat one on the end of the 10mm ring spanner. There are three ring spanners – sizes 8, 9 and 10mm with spoke keys on the ends, and the locking device greatly enhances safety when using the knife and ring spanners.
On the other half of the tool there’s a further resin tyre lever and the remaining 4, 5, 6 and 8mm Allen keys together with a T25 Torx driver. Tightening the set screw gave better stability when using the screwdrivers. The large surface area gives you a very firm grip on the tool, and the tough nylon pouch with belt loop is a bonus.
