Slick and handsome the image of this tool suggests great performance is lurking. The chain tool is certainly worthy of note – it’s a fold out-type which generally aren’t as easy to use as the clip-off kind (Park, BBB), but this one with its fold out ‘wing’ lever comes to hand with a little more ease than most. Of the smaller tools this is one emergency chain fixer we’d reach for.
The bits are short and not as well defined as we would like, especially on the smaller bits, with a sloppy fit into 2 and 2.5mm heads. The tools boltless frame performed well during the test, with the bits remaining at the same fold tension. Longterm durability will remain to be seen as there’s no obvious means of tightening the frame if it should work loose. That aside, we’d be happy packing the Hermida Special Edition into our race jersey pockets the next time we need a lightweight multitool.
