BikeRadar verdict

4 out of 5 stars

"Great range of tools and a good shape for really wrenching. The two-year warranty is a big bonus"

The simple design of the Mini 19 makes it easy to use, and the different tools are easily located and accessible.

The Allen keys range from 2mm up to 8mm, which should cover all the essential adjustments that you’ll need to make around your bike.

The Torx T25 key is great for any disc bolt issues and it’s a plus to have both a Phillips and a flat-head screwdriver. The chain tool is easy to use and doubles as a spoke key. The carry case seems a little excessive, however, and looks like a hip flask.

  • sturdy enough but its too stumpy to get good leverage when tightening up bolts, the chain tool is practically useless and its covered in rust after I got caught in a deluge and it was back in my saddle bag. very dissapointing.

  • Monkey....surely that's the fault of having a saddlebag that can't handle a bit of water?

Like anything that can rust if it gets wet you need to dry it and if needs be GT85 it.

I love this little tool...perfect for the trails and the road.

  • I had one of these, until I went through the airport and had left it in my hand luggage bag, they took it away :-(

So I went and bought another one, which is surely a good test of whether it's a good choice or not - I couldn't find anything better for the money.

Only slight issue I have is with the chain tool - works well with 8 speed chains, but struggles to apply the pressure required to push a 10 speed pin through.

And yes, it will rust if you let it get wet - but it comes with a sealed flask to protect it if you're not worried about a little extra bulk.

  • Hi Monkey,

Sorry to hear about the problems with your M19. They have a lifetime warranty so drop me a line at info@2pure.co.uk. Despite this not technically being a warranty we will see what we can do to sort this out for you.

  • I have used the chain tool a number of times on nine speed chains (SRAM and Shimano) and find it works just fine as do all the other tools. Easily strong enough to tighten bolts, particularly out on the trail for which it is designed. Put things like this in a waterproof bag you get from most outdoor stores and it will not rust.

  • I couldn’t disagree more about the chain tool, I have used it with 7, 8, and 9 speed chains, and used it to rescue fellow cyclists a couple of times.

I often use this multi tool instead of breaking out a full sized tool kit, I find the spoke keys to be especially good.

  • had one for over 2 years and mine also used to get rusty when it was in my saddle bag, but it lives in my camelback now and is fine. Unless you have a stainless multi tool it will rust..... I don't think any multi tool chain splitter works as well as a dedicated one but I've used this on 8 and 9 speed chains- shimano and sram- and it does the job. Great tool to have with you and it works a treat. Metal box it came in was a waste of time and went straight in the bin though...

  • Bit of oil on tools is always a good idea. If that's all it takes to keep a good tool in working order, it's more than worth the trouble. Give it a try.
