The Alps are the best place to ride in Europe

Ride some of Europe’s greatest trails and relax in the hot tub at a catered chalet in Morzine

(Brought to you in partnership with Alpine Elements)

There’s a lot to be said for an MTB holiday. Good weather, great beer, and the chance to explore new and unusual trails is a fantastic way to spend a week or so. Happily, tourist boards across the world have begun to cotton onto this, and more countries than ever are investing in their cycling network, looking to get their own slice of the MTB pie.

There’s a ton of locations out there, but if you’re looking for sheer spectacle and an impressive selection of trails, you can’t get better than the Alps. Europe’s highest mountain range just has something special about it, whether it’s the views, the weather, the culture, or the majesty of those giant peaks. Riding here is the kind of experience that stays with you for life. So where should you go?

Chalet Timeris in Morzine, France, is a great option, a cute but ample chalet that’s part of Alpine Elements’ ‘Bike Plus’ package. That means it’s been designed with riders in mind, with secure bike storage, access to hire facilities, jet wash for dirty bikes, a mobile workshop stand and tool kit, qualified mechanics and spare parts on hand, plus – and best of all – the chance to ride with expert guides drawn from the surrounding area.

In an offer exclusive to Chalet Timeris, you’ll get to enjoy professional bike guiding for two set days of your week, often Monday and Thursday. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience, aimed at intermediate bikers who want to join a sociable biking chalet and get all the benefits of a pro guide for two full days.

You’ll be introduced to all the hidden secret spots that only a local knows, and be fast tracked to the best riding for your ability, with mixed level groups for intermediate and up. On that note, it’s recommended that you can comfortably ride your local trail centre on a full suspension bike before joining the group. Beginners can join the All Mountain Pro Bike Taster Sessions (available in all chalets and hotels), so the rest can enjoy a moderate, but comfortable pace.
