CycleOps Powertap SL 2.4 Wireless Hub System | $1984.70
BikeRadar verdict
"An elegant way to measure your power and more"
The top of the range power meter from CycleOps, the PowerTap SL 2.4 is completely wireless. The head unit picks up power, torque, speed, cadence and heart rate as soon as you start riding, and wasn’t subject to outside electrical interference.
Unfortunately for Garmin Edge users, you won’t be able to pick up PowerTap readings because of differences in the wireless communication protocols.
The computer gives a customisable display of three simultaneous types of readings, which are navigable via two buttons.
There’s an interval mode that records an unlimited number of intervals, though you can only see the last 10.
We’d like to see more ride data displayed while you’re riding; four or five fields would be useful, as would an altimeter.
The PowerAgent software is useful for post-ride analysis, but not as powerful as Cycling Peaks WKO+ for £100 or so.
Power measuring devices are the training tool of choice for those who can afford them because of the precision they bring to tailoring your training.
The PowerTap SL 2.4 includes the hub, head unit, heart rate strap, download cradle and PowerAgent analysis software.
The 416g hub needs to be built into a wheel, but there are a number of ready-made options available depending on your budget and whether you want training or racing wheels.

User review of CycleOps Powertap SL 2.4 Wireless Hub System
I've been using the mountain disc version for the past month or so, it's very reliable and the PowerAgent program is easy to use.
