Hope HID | £340
BikeRadar verdict
"High quality and powerful light but requires regular TLC"
Hope lights truly are things of great beauty.
We like the cunning fixing system that means anyone using a Hope stem has a discreet attachment method, but versions are available for Thomson stems and there is a variety of handlebar/helmet options. The blue-quality light has an incredibly powerful reach and is very even, although it's still very directional with less width of beam than the LED version.
You don't get this quality without giving a bit back, and the cable connections require looking after to keep them clean and problem-free. The gap between this and the Hope LED version has narrowed, but if you're a confirmed HID user and need maximum power for short periods, this will still press all the right buttons.
