Abus Locks Bordo Folding Lock
BikeRadar verdict
"Ideal for quick stops with the bike in plain view"
The Bordo is a very different style of lock. Its multi-link design enables both a good sized opening and small packing/carrying size.
The mount bracket affixes with quick straps making it ideal for times when you need to use a lock quickly and don't want it permanently attached to your bike. We have seen a similar design before with Specialized's Wedlock, although that lock was all too quickly broken. The Bordo fares a whole lot better.
We had to use considerable force to break open the Bordo and it's worth noting that our test frame also took some considerable damage when we levered this one open. It eventually broke just shy of the minute mark when one of the rivets became stressed enough to crack and pop open. Overall, the Bordo is ideal for café stops and quick stops with the bike in plain view, although it can't be recommended as a sole source of security. We would use this in the instances mentioned and also as a second lock to a good quality chain or U-lock.
