The Switch is a lightweight jacket that converts into a gilet, making it handy for changeable weather days.
The cut is on the cross-country side, hugging the torso nicely rather than looking baggy and casual. That’s no bad thing on a garment that’s designed to shut out the elements though. The arms are a good length and the back has a slight drop to protect your rear end from spray.
The polyester fabric stretches well when you’re in the saddle, keeping movement free and easy, and it does a sterling job of cutting out the chill when you pair it up with a baselayer.
If you do start to warm up, it's easy to convert the Switch into a gilet, thanks to the zip-off arms, which can then be stashed in one of the four back pockets. Two of these pockets are zipped.
There’s also a front (‘Napoleon’) pocket for your MP3 player with a small hole for your earphones. Reflective print on the back and the arms finishes the jacket off nicely.
