"Value price shorts, but with a slightly dated styling and performance"

Ground Effect has been making sound no-nonsense bike kit and supplying it direct to riders in the UK for a long time now, and we know it has a strong fan base.

But to be honest we were a little disappointed with these shorts. For starters they were, well, short. Set against the trend to style longer by most other brands, there was a definite hotpants feel to these.

On the bike, the liner rode up at the front to form an irritating lump and there was a general feeling of constant discomfort around the waist – obviously not conducive to a good ride. 

Maybe it was this tester, but these do remind us of shorts we were wearing around 10 years ago, and things have moved on a fair bit since then.
