Shimano Saint disc brake review£225.00

Brutal power, great control

BikeRadar score3.5/5

The closed bar clamp on Shimano's Saint downhill brake slows setup and the Free Stroke bite point adjust is limited but the Servo-Wave leverage change mechanism means plenty of pad clearance for easy setup despite the big four-cylinder calliper.

While a sticky piston on our set meant lower-than-expected dyno power, they’re usually very powerful indeed. They need treating with respect at first, but modulation is excellent once you learn to be sparing with your stopping.

Their reliability is legendary among our big mountain/bike park feedback groups, which helps offset the high weight and price. Modular selling means you can use existing rotors and mounts too.
