RockShox Argyle RCT fork£599.99

Top-of-the-line dirt jump fork

BikeRadar score4.5/5

This RockShox Argyle RCT is the company's top dirt jump/slopestyle fork, and at a penny under £600, it’s definitely not for those on a tight budget.

It uses the company’s Solo Air spring and Motion Control damper, and sports a Floodgate (bump threshold) dial and internally adjustable travel (80-140mm/ 3.1-5.5in). It’s only available with a straight 1.125in steerer.

The air spring is a piece of cake to set up, though we ran higher pressures than the ballpark figures suggested on the fork leg. The damping is simple and predictable, whether set almost solid for pump tracks or softer and with less compression damping for days messing around in the woods.

We found ourselves setting the Floodgate fairly high, which helped keep the fork super-supportive.

The RCT remains smooth throughout its travel, and the spring is progressive enoughto avoid any clunky bottom-outs, even when hucking to flat. The 20mm Maxle helps to create a super-stiff package, with direct steering and a fair amount of feedback through the handlebar.
