FSA SL-K Seatpost (US) (08) | $70
BikeRadar verdict
"A reliable and easily-adjustable carbon seatpost worth considering"
The US$70 FSA SL-K carbon road seatpost does it all: easy setup, sound saddle railing clamping, and no slippage in the seat tube. It's also a good value among its carbon competition.
Tech
The post is built using a two-piece carbon fiber 3K weave tubular construction, then mated to a forged 6061 aluminum head. A chromoly one-bolt clamping mechanism makes adjusting the saddle easy, easpecially to dial in the proper reach to the bars with a little fore and aft play.
FSA's SL-K kit has impressed us tremendously, and the carbon seatpost continues the good vibe. At 225g for the 27.2mm (diameter) x 250mm (length), this post compares favorably with carbon offerings from Campagnolo (Chorus 195g/US$99), Easton (EC70 190g/US$119), and Ritchey (Pro Carbon 235g/US$95).
Verdict
After several hundred miles, the FSA SL-K carbon seatpost, has proven to be a reliable and easily-adjustable carbon seatpost worth considering. Heavier riders (those weighing more than 200lbs) should consider the 350mm length.

DO NOT BUY THIS SEAT POST!
I just snapped mine today and i weigh only 70kilos and was seated, riding over lumpy sections in Epping Forest.
Im lucky to not have two butt holes and a trip to the damn hospital!
I wasnt even pushing it hard when riding. Could NOT believe it.
Ive got it on video from the cam i had mounted to the frame. You can NOT miss the huge CRACK when it happens. Im trying to upload it to youtube. Will keep you posted as im having dramas with the upload.
VERY VERY unhappy with this product.
Infact, i'd like FSA to supply the best and lightest alloy model they have at the 350mm length to replace my broken one.
It doesnt even really look like carbon fibre. More a resin centre with carbon webbing on it. If that webbing wasnt there, the seat wouldve fallen off after breaking and the fractured end wouldve gone up MY end.
Do not trust anything carbon
For this reason im now also getting rid of my carbon fibre handlebars for fear of a similar outcome.
Sure, carbon fibre is x-amount stronger than steel but...
Simply put- carbon is NOT made to flex. Being a seatpost/handles bars, they ARE going to flex. Carbon will crack, then snap off.
If this happens with handles bars, i'll pray for you, coz you'll need it
