Trek Interval II Helmet | $59.99
BikeRadar verdict
"Let down by the dial, but apart from that it’s solid and comfortable"
With a secure fit, plenty of padding in all the right places and hefty vents at the back to keep the air moving freely over your head, the in-moulded Interval is a comfortable bargain buy. An awkward-to-adjust retention system is its only downside, but if you don't mind that it's a good all-rounder.
It’s really secure in use, with no wobble at all when snugged up tight – the retention band reaches right down behind the ears to hug your skull snugly.
It even looks okay when the peak is removed, thanks to some nice swoopy vents and decals – so it’s ideal for double duty when riding both on-road and off.
The only low point is the adjustment of the retention system. The tiny buckle dials are a right pain in the thumb and, while the Zip-Tite2 mechanism worked great during the test, it feels cheap and plasticky.
Two sizes mean that fine-tuning is quick and easy, though.
