Azonic Exile helmet £49.99

Stylish mountain bike helmet with visor

BikeRadar score 2.5/5

Azonic have gone to town on the Exile, treating even the straps and internal padding to Azonic branding. The in-moulded shell is tidily finished and extends close to the base of the internal shell, although the visor isn’t adjustable.

Large exhaust vents and some shallow internal channels help keep things reasonably cool, but we’re not so keen on the cheap foam pads, which tend to hold onto more sweat than the thinner varieties used by most other helmet manufacturers.

We’d also prefer lockable junction buckles in place of the Exile’s non-locking ones. If you’ve got a large head you might struggle too – the L/XL sample we had was on the small side. It’s undeniably a good-looking helmet, but let down by a lack of attention to detail.

The helmet weighs 288g and has 21 vents.
