"A multitool that subtlety attaches to your bike? That’s brilliant"

The cam-based QR has been a fantastic for roadies and mountain bikes alike, but there’s always room for improvement. Pedro’s have come up with a clever revision to Campagnolo’s classic design and called it the Tülio … which sounds like Tullio, Mr Campag’s first name. Hmmm.

It’s not quite as elegant as Campag’s first effort. However the handle conceals a chain tool, two sizes of spoke key, 4, 5, 6 and 8mm hex wenches and a flat head screwdriver. It’s all held together with magnets, with one under the flipable 6mm/5mm hex, two to hold the 4mm/ flat screw and one to locate the main QR cam pivot in place. A small rubber grommet on the end stops it rattling.

It’s held a range of rear wheels on our 135 OLD hub cross-country hardtail (it fits 130 OLD hub road bikes as well), where it’s logged a lot of grim weather use. The laser etched logos have weathered but it’s still working smoothly.

The chain tool lacks a floating pin head to aid smooth action and doesn’t work well with hollow pins, plus the tapered head on the 4mm hex needs to be positively inserted to limit rounding of both the tool and bolt, but all the other hex heads remain sharp. Basically, we love it.
