BikeRadar Bargains: Enduro special

Do you even enduro, bro?

Enduro is the racing discipline that's taken the mountain biking world by storm. You can't move for enduro bikes, enduro brakes, enduro clothing, enduro helmets... basically, pretty much anything you can think of. It's also responsible for the goggles and trail shell look which, while practical, we're undecided about.

So if you enduro, or if you're thinking about enduro-ing (is that even a word?) this year, then we've got a great selection of kit at bargain basement prices to help get you kitted out. You've got to look the part, right?

If you aren't sure if you're enduro enough, take our quiz to find out

Not sure what enduro mountain biking is? Don't worry - this explanatory video will help:

MET Parachute Helmet 2016 £169.99 £119.99

The met parachute helmet 2016:
The met parachute helmet 2016:

Fancy the brand new 2016 MET Parachute Helmet with nearly a third knocked off the price? Here it is! The downside is you can only get this price on the black and red version but to be honest, we think it looks pretty darn fierce.

With full-face helmets becoming mandatory on the UK Gravity Enduro circuit in 2015, the lightweight MET Parachute has become a popular option. It's strong, lightweight and has plenty of ventilation, giving you air flow on those climbs and protection on the descents.

The main competitor to the MET Parachute is the Bell Super 2R - so which is better? Check out our head to head shoot-out between the two

Fox Marz Yellow Goggles £75.00 £49.99

Fox goggles:
Fox goggles:

You'll need some goggles to go with your new full-face helmet. These eye-catching goggles from Fox should do the trick. They feature Fox's AIRSPC design which increases internal air volume to give you better ventilation and peripheral vision. The lens offers 100 percent UV protection, there's a removable rock guard inlaced and strap mounted third tear-off post.

Formula R1x Disc Brake £149.99 £59.99

Formula r1x brakes:
Formula r1x brakes:

The Formula R1x disc brakes are designed for All-Mountain or Enduro use, and combine elements of both the R1 and RX brakes, such as a radial master cylinder and one-piece caliber.

The Formula R1 (basic) got some love from our reviewer back in 2012.

POC Trabec Race Helmet £150.00 £69.99

You won't always need a full-face helmet, so for enduro training or less full-on races where they're not compulsory, the POC Trabec Race is a popular choice. Available in every colour so long as it's black.

This isn't the version with MIPS unfortunately, but we have reviewed the POC Trabec Race with MIPS if you're interested in finding out more.

Keep your eyes mud-free with the Smith Optics Fuel V.2 Sweat-X goggles - not a name that exactly trips off the tongue. You get three colour choices at this discounted price; the entreatingly named Orange Duck Camo, Navy Dr. Bob and Acid W3.

The emphasis in on comfort with a layer of foam to cushion the goggles against your face and absorb sweat, and a clear, anti-fog lens. The goggles are also tear-off compatible and have a wide silicone-backed strap.

Osprey Raven 10l Hydration Backpack (purple) £89.99 £62.99 and Osprey Raven 10l Women's Hydration Backpack (green) £85.99 £59.50

Osprey raven 10l cycling rucksack:
Osprey raven 10l cycling rucksack:

If the Osprey Raven is good enough for 3-times Enduro World Series World Champion Tracy Moseley, it's probably got to be good enough for most of the rest of us. Tracy rides with the 14l version which is great for 3-hour plus rides, but if you want something a little more compact for UK racing, the 10l should do you proud.

The women-specific version has a different structure to the pack and straps to suit the female frame. Both come with integrated reservoir, a helmet attachment system and an integrated tool roll. Handy!

Green version available with a 30 percent discount from Wiggle.

Purple version available now with a 30 percent discount from Evans Cycles.

GIRO Terraduro Men's Cycle Shoe £129.99 £89.99

The Giro Terraduro shoes were designed specifically for the enduro market, and they knocked our socks off when we tested them in 2015.

We rated them as an "exceptional all-terrain shoe" and although they had some early teething problems (read the review to find out all about that), we're confident those have been overcome, leaving a shoe we'd happily recommend. In fact, the only downside here is that there are limited sizes left available at what is frankly a very reasonable price.
