BikeRadar video of the week

By Matthew Cole

Every week we're going to be bringing you a highlight of all the footage we have on our BikeRadar media player. There's everything on there from ride technique footage to workshop tutorials, and some idiotic stunts sent in by our readers.

We'd also like to get you involved too - send us your riding clips from the trail or the road. As long as you don't add any backing music you/we don't own the copyright to, we'll get your video on the player. Send your video files here.

This week's selected video was taken by MBUK's Andrew Dodd [Doddy] on his recent trip to Whistler to get the lowdown on the new Norco range. And this is not your run-of-the-mill helmet camera footage, this was recorded using Doddy's own homemade 'boom' - a wooden construction which helps give a different perspective of the trail.

To take a look at the Intense Socom he used while out there, check out his blog entry from before the trip. Go to the MBUK blog homepage to see his other blogs.

Enough said. To see the clip, press play below, and once you've finished with that, take a look at the other videos available on the player. There's something quite mesmerising about these boom cam vids...what do you think?

  • Nice vidio Doddy!!

  • nice one - it looks like the helmet is just a picture stuck on top of the film - weird lol

  • The way your head and body moves reminds me of Team America.

Could you post a photo of this contraption?

  • I'll be writing a blog on the camera and recording device used, and how I made the boom, although there is a photo of me with the boom on this blog...

    Pic number 11, I believe....

  • very nice video Doddy!

    fairly sureal though....

  • Pretty cool, though surreal with Mr. HelmetFace just sitting there while the world bounces around him.

After a couple vids though, it gets a bit the same. I enjoy the trail more when I see what the rider sees. So then I "experience"the difference between trails.

  • Nice - shows how to ride smooth & relaxed.
