Builth Wells Merida Bikes Mountain bike marathon coming soon

By BikeRadar

There are now less than two weeks to go before the third leg of the Merida Bikes MTB marathon takes place in Builth Wells, mid Wales on July 5 and 6.

Distances for this event are 90K, 75K, 50K and 30K, so there should be something for all levels of rider. The route starts by heading west out of Builth Wells up on to the Epynt Military Range, using parts of the Epynt Way. The route then enters the Crychan Forest, heading back across the Epynt Range and onto Pantllyn Hill, where there is great descent all the way to Builth Wells.

The White House Campsite will provide the setting for the event village, and will be open from Friday to Monday morning.

Chariot Racing – the sequel

The April round of the Merida Marathon in Builth Wells marked the first ever mountain bike chariot race, and the upcoming Builth event will see the return of the chariots on Saturday afternoon at the event village. Chariots are provided, and you can either use your own bike or you’ll be provided with one.

Gore Bike Wear – Try B4 U Buy

Gore will be at the event giving all riders the chance to try out their kit on the ride. Just go along to the Gore Bike Wear tent and they’ll sort you out.
