Demo Day Series off to a flyer in Glentress
The 2008 National Bike Demo Day Series got off to a fantastic start under clear blue skies in the beautiful surroundings of Glentress in the Scottish Borders. Sixteen companies showcasing 23 brands of bikes and bits showed up with 180 machines – all prepped for show-goers to thrash around an exciting test area.
And the Scottish mountain biking fraternity was there in numbers, taking advantage of both the superb weather and the equally stunning selection of test bikes by helping themselves to well over 1,000 individual demo rides.
Feeling a bit miffed that you might have missed out on a
whole heap of fun? Don’t! There are four more opportunities to gorge yourself
on this incredible feast of hardware - 18 different bike brands in all - with the next event taking place on February
24 at Coed-y-Brenin in

It was a cool day- did the red in the morning, then demo'd a Fisher 29er and Trek 69er in the half hour over lunchtime (sorry, 29ers don't do it for me with their wonky steering and cumbersome feel, even if they are the fastest thing uphill) then went off and did the secret trails and a bit of the black which was totally deserted.
Great chance for people after a new bike, and didn't get in the way of anyone else's enjoyment. Gorgeous weather too!
