Katy comes good in Fort Bill

By BikeRadar

BikeRadar's sister magazine MBUK can claim just a smidgen of credit for one British success story from the Mtb Worlds in Fort William.

Katy Curd's raw talent was originally spotted during the magazine's DH Factor competition. Giant's pro rider Rob Warner who was attending the event, recognised the teenager from Corsham as a diamond in the rough, but one with the ability to shine all the way to the top. After making a couple of calls to his corporate masters, he duly signed Katy to the team on the spot.

Last week that faith was fully justified when the eighteen-year old bagged the runner up slot at the Worlds in the junior women's DH race - not bad for someone taking part in only their second ever competitive event.

Her performance was good enough to split the two top-seeded French women, Floriane Pugin who won the event and Myriam Nicole who took the bronze medal.
