Nicolai Argon Fat Pinion — First look

World’s first fat bike with a gearbox

German bicycle manufacturer Nicolai has unveiled the world’s first fat bike equipped with a gearbox.

The snowy and sandy conditions in which fat bikes excel can also wreak havoc on external drivetrains. Nicolai’s new Argon Fat Pinion looks to remedy these problems by using an 18-speed Pinion gearbox and belt drive to keep the elements at bay.

The oversized aluminum frame is equipped with a Pinion P1.18 gearbox, 120mm Carver suspension fork and a Gates Carbon Drive

Pricing and availability TBD.
