US team for Olympic MTB test

USA Cycling has announced the five riders that will represent the United States at the mountain bike Olympic test event in Beijing on Saturday, 22 September.

The selected riders are Adam Craig (Giant), Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski (Subaru-Gary Fisher), Todd Wells (GT), Willow Koerber (Subaru-Gary Fisher) and Georgia Gould (Luna).

The three male riders are currently the top three US riders in the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup standings, with Craig placed 18th. Koerber and Gould are respectively sixth and seventh in the World Cup rankings and have both posted top five finishes in international competition this season.

The group is expected to make the trip to Beijing directly from the UCI World Cup Finals which take place on Saturday, September 15 in Maribor, Slovenia.
