Briton dies in Bolivian bike accident

One British mountain biker has died and two others have been injured in an accident which initial reports suggest killed eight other people on a treacherous mountain road in the Bolivian Andes.
The incident occurred on the notorious Highway of Death between
Reports state he was struck by a Toyota Land Cruiser which subsequently plunged off a road that has earned its chilling nickname courtesy of the frequent fatal crashes in which vehicles can tumble thousands of feet down the mountainside.
The other British cyclists injured in the collision have been named as Daniel Roberts, 23, and James Marshall, 22. Mr. Marshall, speaking from his hospital bed, said the Land Cruiser was attempting to pass the group and lost control after a tyre burst, ploughing into the riders before plummeting over the edge of the track.
