Fort William in pictures
The recently concluded Mtb World Championships in Fort William saw some notable successes for British riders.
Highpoints included Ruaridh Cunningham's gold medal in the Downhill Junior final, Rachel Atherton's silver in the Elite Women's Downhill, and her brother Gee's bronze in the corresponding Men's event. Young Katy Curd showed her potential by winning silver in the Junior Women's Downhill race, while David Fletcher took bronze in the Junior Men's Cross Country race.
It was disappointing to see Steve Peat finish so far down the field in the Elite Men's Downhill, but his chances of getting on the podium were over almost as soon as his race had started. While his bike was hooked on to the outside of a ski gondola heading up to the start gate, the saddle was loosened and fell off during his descent. Peat finished in 67th place.
Didn't make it to Fort William? Here are some pics we took at the event.
