Hannah takes top honours in Vigo

But our Beaumont comes fourth!

The Cut's Mick Hannah kicked off the UCI World Cup series at Vigo, Spain this weekend with a comfortable victory, winning the pro men's downhill by nearly a second. After a hard crash in practice, where he really knocked the wind out of himself, Hannah came back hard and set the fastest qualifying time on Saturday, setting the stage for Sunday_Ts main event. Hannah's time was 2.22.942-almost a second faster than fellow Aussie Nathan Rennie. Hannah wasn't the only podium placer to recover from a nasty crash in practice...Steve Peat dislocated his middle finger and only just made it back from hospital to shred the track and bag third! Our kid, Team MBUK/Santa Cruz Marc Beaumont, is getting faster every race and was super-stoked to blast home in a very respectable fourth place (making it three Santa Cruz pilots in the top four)! Gee Atherton completed the Brit-dominated top spots.
With the World Cup kicking off so successfully for Team MBUK/Santa Cruz and the UK contingent, the season ahead looks set to be very rewarding...

Hannah: 2:22.942 Cannondale Judge
Rennie: 2:23:800 Santa Cruz V-10
Peat: 2:24.756 Santa Cruz V-10
Beaumont: 2:25.165 Santa Cruz V-10
Atherton: 2:25.295 Giant Glory
